New games are usually larger memory wise, and use new technology, which the Xbox doesn't have.

BECAUSE IT TIME FOR NEXT GEN GAMES. THE COMPANY WANT TO MAKE USE OF NEXT GEN GRAPHICS AND TO GET MORE MONEY. THAT WHY GAME ARE 60-100 NOW. COMPANY'S GET 10-20 BACK FOR EACH GAME THAT GETS SOLD.IT ALL ABOUT MONEY.
so more people will buy the 360...

and games cant be played on the older system, since the games are too much to handle
Simple reason they want to make more money they make games and then make sequels for other systems so gamers want to buy the system this gets them more money (Greed these days), dude just like before everything is moving up later on they'll stop making games for PS2, Gamecube, and Xbox due to they are making better systems its just like the ps1 getting played out there just trying to get money but thell still be making games for a while for those systems
Because if they were to put all those games onto the original console, they would have to totally change the graphics, and the frame rate, etc. because the original doesn't have as much power as the 360.
first halo 3 is only on xbox 360. and microsoft is cheep so they make you buy it on xbox 360.AND IM A GIRL AND I KNOW THIS!!!
